Pappas Pärlor. Known not least for joyful street art installations and subtle films on Tiktok and Instagram. Now, beaded pixels are spreading out in several rooms at Örebro Castle, offering both recognition and nostalgia for several generations.

Here you will find beaded pixel works in different sizes and dimensions, colors and shapes. All created with the help of ordinary beads, bead plates and an old-fashioned iron. Beads & Pixels also contains a lot of moving material in the form of stop motion movies with beaded figures.

The motifs are based on things that make the artist happy. Much is taken from the world of video games, with characters that are instantly recognizable. There are also album covers and music videos. More about Daddy's Beads

Pappas Pärlor is synonymous with Johan Karlgren. The artist from Motala who, a little over ten years ago, started beading bead plates with his daughter. His daughter eventually got bored, but Johan did not. He had found his hobby, his passion and his new job.

Today, Pappas Pärlor works a lot with creating moving content for various partners. A Swedish craft material company, several American movie companies and a company in the video game industry, to name a few. Johan also exhibits in galleries around the world. But everything he does is done with thought.

- I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to chase money. For me, everything is about joy and going with my gut. Now I only do what feels good. Then it's easy to find both energy and time.

Over the years, Pappas Pärlor has grown into a social media phenomenon. Via TikTok and Instagram, the beaded works reach millions of people around the world. Often through subtle stop motion films that amuse, fascinate and provoke reflection. Check out @pappasparlor for a quick glimpse.
