Wow. Thron Ullberg, one of Sweden's foremost portrait photographers, is now showing carefully selected works from his vast treasure of images. In a perfect setting (!) in the beautiful Church Hall at Örebro Castle.
In the unique exhibition Portraits, you will meet people captured in timeless and charged moments. Sometimes close, sometimes with a conscious distance.
There are familiar faces like Gösta Ekman, Magnus Uggla and Noomi Rapace. There is also Thron Ullberg's daughter, Celina. And self-portraits where the photographer really challenges the laws of physics.
Thron Ullberg is known for his classic photographic craft. He often works with large-format cameras and traditional negatives that are then digitally processed. Equally famous is his way of blurring the line between what is possible and what is not. Everything that happens in Ullberg's pictures is real, however incredible it may seem.
It is not only at Örebro Castle that Thron Ullberg is recognized. He is represented in the National Portrait Collection and at the National Museum, where his pictures are currently on display in a current exhibition.
The exhibition is curated and produced by Contura Konst & Ram.
