Absolutely not. Smoking is prohibited both inside and outside the castle. The smoking ban applies to the entire island of Slottsholmen. 

No. Dogs and other pets are not allowed in the public areas of the castle. However, dogs are warmly welcome at the Lill-Annas castle café. 

Assistance and guide dogs are, of course, welcome to come along.

The Castle's public entrance is in the southwest tower, to the left of Lill-Annas slottscafé.

With your admission ticket, you’ll have access to most of what’s happening at the castle during the day. There are various types of exhibits, historical galleries, fun activities for kids, and much more. 

You can purchase your admission ticket on-site at the " The Castle Shop," located one flight of stairs up in the entrance tower. Starting in mid-May 2026, you’ll also be able to purchase " admission ticket " through this website. 

No. The Castle Shop doesn't handle cash, but you can pay with both Swish and card. 

Yes, to enter the castle , you need a admission ticket. With it, you’ll have access to everything there is to experience at the castle during the day: exhibitions, children’s activities, historic halls, and much more.

Oh, there's so much to see and do at the castle. For example, there's always a wonderful castle gift shop with cute and fun items, and a cozy castle café full of treats.

Inside the castle you can check out historical halls and experience the castle environment. There is usually an exhibition to look at, and if you have kids with you, the Children's Tower is of course a real highlight. On weekends (and every day during peak season) you can join a historical tour of the castle. Just like everything else, it's included in the admission ticket and makes your visit to the castle extra special.

It depends. During the summer and various school breaks, the castle is usually open every day. During the off-season, it is typically open Thursday through Sunday.

You bet! You can find a map here on the website, and it's often available in printed format too. Just ask at The Castle Shop, and they'll help you out. 

The Castle's elevator is in the entrance tower, which is the southwest tower. You can use it to get to three different floors:

Level 1, featuring " The Castle Shop ," where you can buy " admission ticket " and more.

Floors 2 and 3, where you'll find exhibitions and historic halls.

The other public areas at the castle are accessible via stairs.

The historical screening of * the castle * can be adapted for accessibility.

The Castle's ghost walk goes through both the attic and the cellar, and unfortunately, elevator access isn't possible for those areas.

The ghost walks take place during July and during the autumn break week (week 44).

Are you a private group that wants to—and dares to—take a ghost tour at the castle? If so, you can book a private tour just for your group at any time of the year. 

Absolutely, you can book a guided “ tour ” tour for your group outside the castle’s regular opening hours.

Yes, hurray! There are two party themes to choose from – Castle Party and Ghost Party. 

Godfrey pops up during the high season at the castle, like in July and during the autumn break. Plus, in the summer of 2026, a fun kids' activity featuring Godfrey is launching down in the cellar vaults. Keep your eyes peeled!

Yes, there is! The Children's Tower is always open and packed with play and adventure. Plus, there's always some kind of fun challenge for kids with puzzles that lead to The Castle's treasure chest.

During summer and various school holidays, there's always extra fun to be had with the little ones. The autumn break, for example, is full of spooky fun and cozy times, while Easter might offer a fun egg hunt. 

You bet! If you're a group of at least 15 people, you'll get a senior/student discount.

For companies, card payment is definitely the best. Invoicing works for higher amounts (though a billing fee will be added).

For municipalities and regional councils, invoicing is fine. Requisitions work for amounts over 500 SEK.

The Castle's impressive venues give you tons of possibilities. Here you can have a day conference in the Eugen Salon or book halls for larger meetings or celebrations. 

Of course, you can also book yourselves in for any of the various guided tours available for slightly larger groups.
