What is happening at the castle right now?
Things happen at the castle all year round. Some that you can experience again and again, year after year, and others that are “once-in-a-lifetime” visits. Take care!

Icons
From the beginning of the 1960s until the mid-1970s, Larsåke “Skuggan” Thuresson photographed over 300 foreign and Swedish music artists and groups. After being hidden from the public for many years, the image treasure has now become the “Icons” exhibition. This autumn, this fantastic piece of pop history is coming to Örebro Castle.
Book the castle
You can book the castle for all of life’s occasions. For tourist coach visits, for company galas, masked balls or name-giving ceremonies. Book one beautiful hall or the whole shebang, with or without guides and catering. Here only your imagination and the moat sets the limits.
Lovely experience! Very knowledgeable guide who knew the art of telling stories so that you became interested.
The Castle Shop
The Castle Shop (Slottsbutiken) is located in the castle’s south west tower and is not only a shop, but also the castle’s public entrance. Here you will find souvenirs, gifts, curios, and the world’s best personnel who will help you with all your questions. Which kings have been here? Have you any good suggestions for children’s books? It’s a bit urgent, where is the nearest toilet? The Castle Shop will help you.
Lill-Anna’s castle café
Eat and drink well in a completely unique atmosphere. In addition to the old torture chamber, which today is Örebro’s favourite café, Lill-Annas has not just one but two outdoor dining areas at the castle. One on the south terrace bathed in sun all day, and one with evening sun on the leafy western terrace. Enjoy everything from newly baked pastries to dinner with full licence.
Örebro County Museum
The County Museum was founded as early as 1856. Which actually makes it one of Sweden’s oldest. Today Örebro County Museum is a living meeting place for all ages, with four different exhibitions which you can see at the castle free of charge. The access is the same as the castle’s public entrance in the south west tower, then two flights up and via the ramp to Vasasalen. Just drop in!
